soup, salad and bread with a twist
Sometimes its not what you make but how you present it. Make any night of the week feel Special. I used store bought soup and ready made salad, and can of biscuits, and a round loaf of rye bread. I turned the oven on low broil. Then i cut a circle in the middle of the bread and scooped the bread out. I put the top portion of the bread aside for use later as a garnish for the soup. Then i warmed the soup in a pot on the stove for about four minutes. I placed the hollowed out bread on a baking sheet and baked to for about two minutes just to make it crispy. Next i took the bread out of the oven put it on a plate and poured the warm soup into it. I followed the directions on the back of the package for the biscuits. I baked them until golden brown. When they were done i took them out of the oven and buttered them while they were still warm. Then i placed them on a plate as well. I poured the premix salad in a nice glass bowl and added cheese, tomatoes cucumbers, and salad dressing. I tossed the salad right before i served it. This meal is quick and easy and can make any night of the week feel like date night.

Spooktacular cup cakes
Want to make simple yet decorative Halloween cup cakes? Buy your favorite box of cake mix. I used a yellow cake mix from the local food store. Then i just followed the directions for cup cake written on the box. Line your cup cake pan with cup cake liners. The average box of cake mix makes 24 small cup cakes. Next bake cup cakes in a 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes it may vary depending on your oven. When the cup cakes are done let cool for 15 minutes before you frost with your favorite frosting. You can add food coloring to white frosting to have a more spooky affect. Then I placed spider rings on top of the cup cakes to make them spooktacular. Around Halloween there are so many items you could place on top of your cup cakes like candy, ghost rings, etc, your only limited by your own imagination.

quick and easy apple dessert
Start with one medium red apple of your choice. Wash it and slice it into thin sections. Sprinkle a little Cinnamon , nut meg, and sugar. Top with a pat of butter. Microwave for five minutes. Let cool a few minutes so you can handle the warm apple slices safely. Place the apple slices on the plate in a fan design. Put two scoops of your favorite ice cream in the middle. I used vanilla ice cream and drizzled Carmel sauce over the warm apples and ice cream. You can also add a little whip cream as well. Serve while the apples are still warm. Who would have thought you could take a few simple ingredients and turn them into and elegant looking dessert. Your friends and family will think you worked hard in the kitchen all day. It will be our little secret.

comfort food
Today i cooked meatloaf, green beans, white and red potatoes, Hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and Carmel, followed by my version of dirt cake. I call it dirty cheese cake. I started by making my cheese cake first because it needs a few hours to chill in the refrigerator. I began by pouring two boxes of instant cheese cake pudding into a bowl and add two cups and a half of cold milk in a mixing bowl. I mixed until the pudding became thick . Next i added one 8 ounce package of soften cream cheese into the bowl with the pudding and milk. Then i mixed until it was smooth and creamy. Then i added one container of cool whip and mixed well. After that i poured the mixture into a ready made gram cracker crust and then topped it with already cooked apple slices and Carmel sauce. Then i put it in the refrigerator for two to three hours. Then i started to make my meat loaf. I put one large package of ground beef into a bowl. I finely chopped one half of a bell pepper and a half of a small white onion. I added the onion and bell pepper to the bowl with two eggs and a cup of bread crumbs, and a half cup of tomato sauce. I mixed the ground beef and egg and other ingredients well. I also added salt, pepper and garlic power to taste. Once everything was mixed i put it in a baking dish and patted it into a oval shaped. I baked it in a 350 degree oven for a hour and a half. Half way through the cooking process i topped the meat loaf with about a half cup of tomato sauce and let it finish cooking. I put one package of frozen green beans in a pot with a little water. I washed and sliced about six small potatoes leaving the skins on and added them to the pot with the green beans added salt and pepper to taste. Cooked on medium heat until potatoes were soft. After the food was done i let every thing cool for about 15 minutes i plated it and and served it. I follow the directions on the hot coco package. Let it cool down and poured it into pretty glasses and topped with whip cream and drizzled a little Carmel sauce on it . This dinner served a family of four on a modest budget. This is a stick to your ribs meal. Its the kind of meal that memories are made of.
